And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world. – Acts 1:8
We believe that following Christ means that we are to tell the story of Jesus in our lives to those around us and to those far away. That’s why we support “Kingdom” minded people who have a calling on their lives to introduce Jesus to others and then train them to do the same. We also believe that it’s important to view our own backyard as a mission field as well as areas spanning the globe.
Living Hope currently supports the following missionaries either financially and/or prayerfully:
Kevin Austin
United States, Abolitionist Movement
Kevin Austin was approved as a U.S. missionary in April 2010. Kevin serves as a staff pastor at Lakeside Community Fellowship in Lake Stevens, WA, and as the Director of the Abolitionist Faith Community for Not for Sale, a leading U.S. organization opposing modern slavery. Kevin will spearhead anti-slavery work within the Free Methodist denomination. Today an estimated 27 million people worldwide are slaves – taken and held by force, denied freedom of movement, and forced work or provide services against their will. Kevin and his family also recently served for seven years as missionaries with the Free Methodist Church in Thailand.

Phyllis Sorter
Nigeria, Africa
Phyllis arrived in Nigeria in February 2005, where she works through leadership development and International Child Care Ministries (ICCM). She is financial administrator of Hope Academy and the new Hope extension school at Ikot Ntuk. A special friendship with a clan of nomadic Fulani has given Phyllis the opportunity to open a third extension school and mission center in Kogi state to minister to Fulani children and their parents, as well as the Bassa-Nge villagers. A fourth extension school was opened this February in a Fulani camp in Ondo State. Seventy-six Fulani children hear about Jesus and learn to read and write in this new school.
