Living Hope is a Free Methodist Church of North America. The history of the Free Methodist Church is rooted in the biblical command to live in holy love. This love comes from God and is available to all. At our core, we are committed to love. We are called to live holy lives. We are expected to engage a needy world. We are empowered to serve without needless restrictions. All of our structures encourage these priorities. We believe the Great Commission requires the transformation of individuals and societies by God’s power and love and for His glory.
The result is wholeness — whole people bringing the whole gospel of freedom to the whole world. In the church, this wholeness is displayed through healthy biblical communities of holy people — disciples, leaders, groups and churches that steadily multiply. Throughout the world, God displays this wholeness as He restores what is broken back to excellence through His holy, transformed people.
To love God and people, and to make disciples
- Mission of the Free Methodist Church
Equip ordinary people to take their next step in becoming extraordinary followers of Christ!
- Vision of Living Hope
Jess began really following Jesus when he was a teenager through the ministry of YoungLife. He has a desire to see God’s Word come to life in both the Christ follower and in the lives of those not yet part of the family of God. He graduated with an Associates and Bachelors degrees from Purdue University in computer graphics technology, then worked in the industry for several years before acting on the call to ministry. He is ordained in the Free Methodist church and enjoys the outdoors, skiing, ice hockey and his family. He is married to Alisha and they have five fantastic kids; Adelyn, Elyana, Kendrew, Declan and Janabelle.

Youth and Worship Director
Genesis grew up in the Seattle area in a large family of singers and musicians, so she has always been around music and loved worship. After growing up in a ministry family, she truly dedicated her life to serving Christ at a YoungLife camp at the age of 15. Following her graduation from high school, Genesis pursued her passion for working with young people by becoming a YoungLife leader herself and has since served in various youth ministries for over 10 years. Genesis is also a chaplain with King County Youth Chaplaincy and ministers to incarcerated youth regularly every month. In 2008 following many confirmations and encounters with God, Genesis began leading worship and since has enjoyed the privilege of leading worship with teams big and small all around the Northwest. Leading the church in worship, writing and releasing songs from heaven, and using music and creative arts as a means to share God’s message of love and hope to the world are Genesis’ passions. Genesis married her best friend Jesse in 2009 and together they love to laugh, watch movies, play board games and run their own photography and graphic design company, Genesis Photography.
Assistant to Pastor & Men’s Ministry Director
Jesse grew up in South Seattle and was raised in church, giving his life to Jesus at 14 at a Christian soccer camp. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Seattle University in 2006, but after completing two years of law school, Jesse realized that his true calling and passion were in ministry. He has spent the past 10+ years helping people find their God-given purpose and live it out to its fullest. Jesse married his beautiful wife, Genesis, in 2009 and God called them to Living Hope in the fall of 2015, where Jesse serves as an assistant to the pastor, oversees Men’s Ministry and directs the technical aspects of the church.
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

Living Hope’s Core Values
Pursue God's PresenceGod’s presence changes everything! His presence brings life, healing and understanding. Whether we are alone, in a small group or large gathering, we not only pray for His presence, we pursue it — standing upon His Word. (Psalm 16:11; John 14:23)
People Matter to UsGod created people in his own image and has given value to each and every person regardless of whether they share our values and beliefs or not. We desire to lead with love and serve people the way God does. (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 9:35-36)
Unity is EssentialWe cannot do what God has planned for us if we each have our own agendas. So, we strive to have the mind and heart of God while we link arms with a like-minded desire to help accomplish all that God has called Living Hope to be and do. (John 17:20-21; 1 Corinthians 1:10)
Practicing GraceWhen the truth of God is lived and shared in grace it allows us and those around us to be transformed. We practice grace with one another, first, because God has given it to us, and second, that we can reflect and confirm the witness of God’s work in us. (1 Corinthians 15:10; Colossians 3:12-13)
Exercising Courageous FaithWe believe a genuine faith causes action in every person (and not just in paid staff). So, we celebrate when people read God’s Word, listen to the Holy Spirit, then, obey and take the initiative to follow through on their own. (Matthew 14:29; James 2:22)
