We understand that visiting a church for the first time can be an awkward experience. Sunday at Living Hope is like a big family get-together. A lot of people like to get dressed up; some prefer to keep it casual. Some are more expressive; many are more contemplative. But everyone is glad to greet one another. So, come just as you are.
When you are here, you are family.
Below we hope to provide answers to regularly asked questions, so that your visit with us will be enjoyable.
Is there childcare?
Yes, we offer a nursery for ages 0 to 3 during our service by our safety-trained volunteers. The nursery is located behind the sanctuary just down the hall to the right. Feel free to ask an usher if you need assistance.
What about older kids during the service?
We love kids, and believe they can worship God too. We invite all to join us during our worship service, and we offer Children’s Church during the sermon. Teachers will wait in the back of the sanctuary to lead the children to a classroom down in our Children’s area for an age-appropriate bible lesson. The teachers will bring them back after service or you can meet your children down at their classroom. Children’s Church is geared for kids preK through 5th grade and is optional.
What’s our music like?
Our music draws on the best of contemporary and traditional songs. We aim to balance joy and reverence, and most weeks, we use guitars, keyboards, and drums/percussion.
What else can I expect in the worship service?
Our worship service will typically include:
- 5-6 songs
- a time of prayer
- a time for offering (regular members/attenders give toward the ministries of LHCF)
- a time for announcements (what’s happening in our community)
- and a relevant talk from our pastor
Will guests be singled out during the service?
No, but we do ask everyone, whether a guest or regular attender, to fill out our “fellowship folder” that should be passed down the row during the service. This is an optional way for guests and regulars to connect with us.
What happens after the service?
We offer light refreshments of cookies and coffee in the lobby. Mingle, visit and connect with others without any pressure. Join us for one of our Christian education classes after that.
What about Christian Education?
We offer classes for all ages from 11:30am to 12:30pm.
- 2 adult classes in the fellowship hall (adjacent to the sancturary)
- a teen class in the Pastor’s office
- pre-k/elementary school classes in Children’s wing
- and, of course, nursery.
